Who We Are UPN-18, KTTU is owned and operated by KTTU-TV, Inc., a Belo Corp. subsidiary. Tracing its roots to 1842, Belo Corp. is one of the nation's largest media companies. Headquartered in Dallas, Texas, Belo Corp. owns and operates a diversified group of television broadcasting, newspaper publishing, cable news and interactive media assets in 21 markets throughout the nation. Broadcast Belo's Broadcast Division comprises one of the country's largest and most successful television station groups with 18 television stations, reaching 14 percent of all U.S. television households. The Company's Television Group includes six CBS affiliates, four NBC affiliates, four ABC affiliates, two independent station, one WB affiliate, and one FOX affiliate with geographic concentrations in Texas, the Pacific Northwest, and Arizona. Belo owns six stations in four of the top 17 television markets: WFAA-TV (ABC) in Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas; KHOU-TV (CBS) in Houston, Texas; KING-TV (NBC) and KONG-TV (Ind.) in Seattle/Tacoma, Washington; and KTVK (Ind.) and KASW-TV (WB) in Phoenix, Arizona. In addition, the Company owns five local or regional cable news channels and manages two television stations through local marketing agreements. The majority of Belo's stations consistently rank first or second in their markets according to NielsenTV ratings. This level of success and viewer loyalty is built upon the Company's commitment to journalistic excellence, quality local news and community service. Recognized for their outstanding local news coverage, Belo's television stations have garnered numerous local, state and national awards, including 11 George Foster Peabody Awards, 15 Edward R. Murrow Awards and 14 Alfred I. duPont-Columbia Awards. Publishing Belo's Publishing Division comprises six market-leading daily newspapers with a combined circulation that exceeds 900,000 daily and almost 1.3 million on Sunday. The Dallas Morning News is Belo's flagship newspaper with the nation's seventh-largest Sunday circulation and ninth-largest daily. Belo Corp. also publishes The Providence Journal in Providence, Rhode Island; The Press-Enterprise in Riverside, California; and the Denton Record-Chronicle in Denton, Texas. Among numerous distinguished local, state and national awards, the prestigious Pulitzer Prize has been awarded to Belo's newspapers on 11 separate occasions, reflecting the dedication of Belo's reporters, editors and photographers whose work personifies the Company's commitment to quality journalism. Cable News Belo Corp. owns and operates two local and regional cable news channels: Texas Cable News based in Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas, and NorthWest Cable News based in Seattle/Tacoma, Washington.
